Estimate Reverb seller fees and net earningsStarting example: one $100 US sale with standard Reverb Payments.
How the Reverb Fees Calculator Works
The Reverb Fees Calculator estimates marketplace charges and the amount a seller may receive after a completed sale. With this tool, you can include the selling fee, payment processing, shipping, Reverb Bump, international charges, currency conversion, and other expenses. Therefore, the result provides a more complete estimate than a simple percentage calculation.
First, enter the item’s final sale price. Next, add the shipping amount paid by the buyer and any sales tax collected at checkout. After that, choose your seller region, account status, and payment option.
Standard and Preferred Sellers may have different payment processing rates. Moreover, regional limits can affect the minimum and maximum selling fee. Finally, the calculator subtracts the selected fees and costs from the seller’s proceeds.
The live exchange-rate feature converts the displayed result into another currency. However, it does not change the base-currency calculation or reproduce Reverb’s exact checkout exchange rate.
Reverb Transfer Fees
Reverb does not normally publish a separate fee for a standard bank payout through Reverb Payments. Instead, the platform deducts selling and processing charges before sending the remaining balance to the seller.
For a standard US seller, the published processing rate is currently:
3.19% of the complete order amount + $0.49 per transaction
Preferred Sellers currently receive this rate:
2.99% of the complete order amount + $0.49 per transaction
The complete order amount may include the item price, buyer-paid shipping, and applicable sales tax. Consequently, the processing base can be higher than the amount used for the 5% selling fee.
Canadian and supported EU sellers use a similar percentage structure in their local currencies. However, regional payment arrangements can change, so sellers should compare the estimate with their Reverb Earnings statement.
Reverb International Transfer Fees
An eligible international sale may incur an additional 1% cross-border fee. Generally, this charge can apply when the buyer and seller use bank accounts located in different countries.
Transactions within the European Economic Area are usually treated as domestic for this purpose. Therefore, an order between two EEA countries may not receive the additional charge.
Select the international option only when the transaction qualifies as cross-border. In addition, remember that PayPal may use its own international payment pricing when a seller receives funds through PayPal.
Reverb explains its international fee treatment in its cross-border fee guidance.
Reverb Exchange Fees
The calculator’s Live Exchange Rate converts the final estimate from the seller’s base currency into a selected display currency. For example, a US seller can calculate fees in USD and display the estimated earnings in GBP.
Exchange-rate conversion is provided for reference only. In practice, Reverb, PayPal, a bank, or a card issuer may use a different rate. Moreover, the provider may include a conversion margin that does not appear in the mid-market reference rate.
As a result, the converted figure should be viewed as an estimate. The original fee calculation always remains in the seller region’s base currency.
Reverb Currency Conversion Fee
Reverb may apply a 2.5% currency conversion fee when the listing currency differs from the payout currency. Unlike the live display conversion, this charge reduces the seller’s actual earnings.
The calculator estimates the charge with the following formula:
Currency conversion fee =
Eligible payout subtotal × 2.5%
First, regular transaction fees are deducted from the applicable proceeds. Then the calculator applies the conversion percentage to the remaining eligible subtotal. Consequently, the conversion fee may be lower than 2.5% of the original sale price.
Buyers can also encounter a conversion cost when purchasing an item listed in another currency. Alternatively, they may select the seller’s currency and allow their bank to perform the conversion.
Reverb Fee for Receiving Money
There is no separate Reverb fee labelled simply as a “receiving money fee” for a normal Reverb Payments order. Instead, most sellers pay a 5% selling fee and a separate payment processing fee.
The selling fee uses the item price plus buyer-paid shipping. However, buyer sales tax is normally excluded from this 5% calculation. Payment processing, by comparison, generally applies to the full checkout amount.
Minimum and maximum selling fees also apply:
| Listing currency | Minimum selling fee | Maximum selling fee |
|---|---|---|
| USD | $0.50 | $500 |
| CAD | C$0.50 | C$680 |
| EUR | €0.50 | €500 |
| GBP | £0.50 | £500 |
Additional deductions may include Reverb Bump, cross-border processing, currency conversion, VAT or GST on fees, and shipping labels. Therefore, the final payout can differ from the result of a basic 5% calculation.
Reverb Fee Calculation Formula
The calculator uses this general formula:
Seller proceeds = Item price + Buyer-paid shipping
Net earnings =
Seller proceeds
− Reverb selling fee
− Payment processing fee
− Cross-border fee
− Currency conversion fee
− Reverb Bump fee
− VAT or GST on fees
− Shipping-label cost
− Item cost
− Other expenses
The two primary fees use different bases:
Selling fee = 5% × (Item price + Buyer-paid shipping)
Processing fee =
Processing rate × (Item price + Shipping + Sales tax)
+ Fixed transaction fee
Additionally, the calculator applies the minimum and maximum selling-fee limits to each order. Multiple orders are calculated separately because each transaction can have its own fixed processing charge.
Reverb Fee Calculation Examples
Standard $100 US Sale
Suppose a Standard Seller sells an item for $100 without shipping or sales tax.
| Calculation | Amount |
|---|---|
| Seller proceeds | $100.00 |
| Reverb selling fee | $5.00 |
| Processing fee | $3.68 |
| Total fees | $8.68 |
| Estimated earnings | $91.32 |
Thus, the effective fee rate in this example is 8.68%.
Preferred Seller Example
A Preferred Seller completes the same $100 transaction. Because the processing percentage is lower, the estimated payment fee decreases to $3.48.
| Calculation | Amount |
|---|---|
| Seller proceeds | $100.00 |
| Selling fee | $5.00 |
| Preferred processing fee | $3.48 |
| Total fees | $8.48 |
| Estimated earnings | $91.52 |
International Sale Example
Now assume that the Standard Seller’s $100 order qualifies for the 1% cross-border fee.
| Calculation | Amount |
|---|---|
| Selling fee | $5.00 |
| Processing fee | $3.68 |
| Cross-border fee | $1.00 |
| Total fees | $9.68 |
| Estimated earnings | $90.32 |
Consequently, the international charge reduces the estimated payout by another $1.
Reverb Bump Example
Consider a $200 item with $20 in buyer-paid shipping and a 5% Bump rate.
| Calculation | Amount |
|---|---|
| Seller proceeds | $220.00 |
| Selling fee | $11.00 |
| Processing fee | $7.51 |
| Bump fee | $11.00 |
| Estimated earnings | $190.49 |
Reverb allows sellers to select a Bump rate from 0.5% to 30%. However, the fee applies only when the Bumped listing produces a qualifying sale.
Reverb Fees Table
| Fee type | General rate | Calculation base |
|---|---|---|
| Reverb selling fee | 5% | Item price and buyer-paid shipping |
| US Standard processing | 3.19% + $0.49 | Complete order amount |
| US Preferred processing | 2.99% + $0.49 | Complete order amount |
| Cross-border fee | 1% | Eligible international transaction |
| Currency conversion fee | 2.5% | Eligible payout subtotal |
| Reverb Bump | 0.5%–30% | Item price and shipping |
| Standard listing fee | $0 | No fee before the item sells |
| VAT or GST on fees | Varies | Seller location and tax status |
| Shipping label | Varies | Carrier, package, and destination |
These rates reflect Reverb information reviewed in July 2026. Nevertheless, account-specific pricing and future policy updates may change the final charge.
